The problem

Keep the app online when sign-ups triple next month.

On the whiteboard, sketch a system that stays fast as users surge, then point to the one piece most likely to break first.

Start with the results and work backwards to the people. Most people start with resumes.

We took the principle. And the name.

THE COST OF GETTING IT WRONG

A wrong hire costs far more than the salary.

Structured, evidence-based evaluation eliminates these failure modes at the source.

0xROBERT HALF, 2025

the annual salary a bad hire can cost you.

It scales with the role, seniority, and market.

candidate profiles will be fake by 2028.

Fake AI resumes and cheated interviews, everywhere.

And the cost adds up

  • Onboarding and training go to waste
  • You source and hire all over again
  • Your employer brand takes the hit
  • The team that stays feels it

03THE DECISION

Decide on the data.

Chesky turns the recorded work into proof a CV, a LinkedIn, or a GitHub never shows, and hands your team the data to decide on.

The operating principle

The best operators stopped guessing. They watch the work.

AI now feeds candidates perfect answers live, mid-interview. Chesky shows how they really think, and how they use AI to solve a problem.
The real hiring bar
I do not believe in interviews. Some people interview well and are not good at all. Others interview poorly and are excellent. So we actually have them do the job.
Ali GhodsiAli GhodsiCo-founder and CEO, DatabricksSource
Why interviews fail
It is easy to fake a belief in an interview. So judge people by what they do. Check the references, and run real tests during the process.

The cost of a wrong hire
I would rather interview fifty people and not hire anyone than hire the wrong person.
Jeff BezosJeff BezosFounder, AmazonSource

Chesky turns this principle into a repeatable process: a real problem, solved in real time, recorded in full, and decided on evidence rather than impression.

Why we built it

“The hardest part of hiring isn't finding candidates. It's having confidence in the decision. Chesky helps talent teams move from intuition to evidence.”

WHY IT WORKS

Proof, not promises.

How well each one predicts real job performance

Watch them do real work (Chesky)

Strongest

The person solves a real task from the role, live. This is the best way to tell how they will do on the job.

A normal interview

Moderate

Just chatting is easy to fake and easy to read wrong. It is still what most companies use.

Reading the resume

Weak

A weak hint at best. AI-written resumes have made it even weaker.

Years of experience

Weakest

Barely tied to how well someone does the work. Yet people lean on it all the time.

Here is what actually predicts how well someone does the job. Watching them do real work wins: twice as good as an interview, four times better than a resume.

Your data is kept apart

Each company's data sits in its own walled-off space. One account can never see another.

We only read your hiring tool

We read from your hiring tool. We write results back only when you say so. We never delete anything. Ever.

Locked-down network

We use a firewall (WAF), DDoS protection, and rate limits on every door in. Our inner systems are never open to the internet.

Built around GDPR

Hosted in the US by default. You can choose to keep your data in the EU. A DPA comes with every Enterprise plan. More to come.

Your data stays yours

We never use candidate work to train AI models. Everything runs on Chesky's own walled-off servers.

Encrypted end to end

AES-256 while stored. TLS 1.3 while moving. Every candidate record and result is encrypted.

Enterprise customers get a full DPA, answers to your security questions, and their own compliance documents.

Recordings of each candidate's screen, camera, and voice are kept in the region you pick. US by default, EU on request. The outside services we use are listed on the Trust Center.
